Waiting for Spring! A Garden Shed REFRESH!

I like winter.
But in MN it can last way too long to end. We get those "false springs" too that trick you into thinking spring has officially sprung and then the next day it snows again. I always fall for it! Not so much because I learn things the hard way (which I do) but more because I just want to believe it is truly spring.
I LOVE SPRING!
Anyway, last weekend it was kinda warm... like 37 degrees or so above freezing. In MN that is considered "kinda warm" and it is perfectly normal to see folks tinkering around outside. BTW... at like 40 degrees, in the spring, MN folks will toss off their jackets and run around in shorts like it is hot. So it really was "kinda warm," at least in the sun anyway...

So while I am patiently waiting to be able to start really digging in the dirt I have started doing some yard clean up! I pulled out all the old winter greens from the outdoor planters and I scooped dog poop for HOURS! And then I decided to REFRESH THE GARDEN SHED!!!

I was inspired by Katrina from homegrown.garden, when I stumbled across her  Garden Shed Makeover video. I don't watch you tube very often unless I am looking for something specific, but the internet gremlins were listening or something and I found myself watching a bunch of her videos about her Allotment in England! So cool!! She is brilliant and darling BTW! After the garden shed makeover video I immediately went to clean out our shed!

Picture of a messy shed filled with junk.
This shed BTW... is not in the best shape! Mr. Chris had to put a new roof on it when we bought the house as it was collapsing. The cedar was never sealed so it is turning grey and the doors a warped and barely shut. We had been throwing all the outdoor stuff in there like shovels, outdoor furniture and such. It was quite a mess!
Check out the little video I made of the refresh...
lI am planning to add a few more things and then give the whole thing a coat of paint. I would like to add a new door with maybe a plexiglass front so there is more light. I asked Mr. Chris if he would help me with that, so stay tuned.

I think it is off to a good start and ready for when we can start planting!
I will share more when it is painted!

    Our mom was a junker....
    We are junkers too.
We like "Good Stuff" like old tablecloths, pretty plates, things with snarky sayings, painted furniture, and pretty much anything with a story to tell.
This is our story, or what we like to call
     "Our Tale."
You can find even more stories here on these blog pages about "re" design ideas I try, and all the mistakes I make along the way!
