The Marathon Move is OVER!

2/9/2021

Well... the three week-two block move is finally over! Everyone who said that the short moves are the worst was 110% right! That took F-O-R-E-V-E-R! (Read in Sandlot voice.)

We finally have everything moved and the pod I had been renting for the last seven months is empty and GONE! Bye-Bye Felicia! Now all the "good stuff" is just pilled ceiling high in the porch and garage.

Did I mention I spent the first seven days just cleaning this house! Seven! It was pretty gross. It had been empty for a while. I seriously cleaned from 8 am to 8 pm for seven days! Ugh! But it is sooooooo much better now.

Did I mention that it was -14 degrees when we moved the garage stuff? I wanted to move things earlier, but that didn't happen. It is suffice to say that there was some stress during this move.

Did I mention that because it was so cold we could not start the truck we needed to move the garage stuff because there was some waiting until the last minute to finish the move... Which might be a HUGE contributing factor to why it took three weeks to complete.

Did I mention that one of our cars ended up with a flat tire too and is not functioning.

Did I mention none of this would have happened without the help of my sissy and her husband Joe... We owe them so BIG TIME!!! Thanks Joe & Nicole!!! You were lifesavers! Anna too!

DID I MENTION that one night two of the stay at the new house one of the cats got into the drop ceiling in the basement and collapsed half of it??? Yep! It was a real life CATastrophe!!! It looked pretty sketchy to begin with and was first on the list to replace... B-U-T I was hoping to have at least been moved in a while before we had to do that. Oh well...
#PROJECT#1 (BTW- You read that like "Hashtag, project number 1." that can be confusing for anyone born before hashtags or after the number sign...)

Did I mention that said cat then went missing for three days and we were starting to get super worried and then one morning he just shows up out-of-the- blue like nothing ever happened! Grrrrrrr!

said cat... a.k.a. "Bad Kitty" - see the ugly ceiling too?
Did I mention there is wallpaper in the living room that I thought we would be able to remove in a day...
Yep! Not so much! That stuff is glued on good!

peeling off wallpaper... are you for real?
The list of projects is going to be long!!!
I will keep you posted! (HA! I think that might be blog humor!)
This is the view of the porch right now... see all that "good stuff" I still need to go through... that means lots more new items for the SHOP!

We like "Good Stuff" like old tablecloths, pretty plates, things with snarky sayings, painted furniture, and pretty much anything with a story to tell.
This is our story, or what we like to call
     "Our Tale."
