So if you have been following the moving story at all you will know I identified two major projects that I wanted to start with at the new house. 1. The basement ceiling needs to be replaced (partly due to the CATastrophe!) and partly because it is just plain ugly. 2. The living room wallpaper needs to be removed. Well so far we have not made progress on either of those projects... but instead I started cleaning and organizing my office/studio... a.k.a. the project room. (I don't like the term "craft room" and I am not entirely sure why, except that I think of my projects more as ART not crafts... call me snobby.) But anyway, I started this project because well... it seemed easier and also because I work from home right now (stupid COVID) and I spend most of my day in this room. The mess was starting to get to me and making me crazy! So I attempted to "unpack" and "organize" this room full of sh!t... I mean "good stuff." About halfway in, as I was looking around... (see video#1) I was like good lord there is so much crap... and this is when it happened... I started asking myself... Self? Are you a ... hoarder??? So as I started to come to the realization that I might really have an issue with craft supply hoarding, another rush of realizations hit me, kinda like a MAC truck... Do I hoard other things as well??? And before the visions of multiple globes, dishes, coats, books, magazines, wicker baskets, used gift bags, shoes, Christmas trees, pillows, etc. could start forming in my mind, I shut down that thinking! Because what good can possibly come from thinking I am a hoarder... It's not like I am really going to change anything about my hoarding tendencies, am I? AND if I find a way to ORGANIZE it all then it really isn't hoarding now is it?! Phew! I am glad we moved past that... So anyway, watch the video below to see the finished product! I still have a few things that need to go into storage, like the mount of baskets I shoved under the desk. And you know what? I decided... being I often sell some of my "good stuff" at the Reincarnated Rabbit, I can't possibly be a true hoarder. And if you are a true hoarder, I empathize... I know it is a real problem for some people. I think it could be for me too, if I didn't purge every now and again. I'm working on it! In the meantime, The shop is getting more and more full of GOOD STUFF! You're welcome!

Our mom was a junker.... We are junkers too. We like "Good Stuff" like old tablecloths, pretty plates, things with snarky sayings, painted furniture, and pretty much anything with a story to tell. This is our story, or what we like to call "Our Tale." You can find even more stories here on these blog pages about "re" design ideas I try, and all the mistakes I make along the way! Categories
