Keep It Simple Silly!
I sometimes wish I was good at taking my own advice. Things seem to be whirling at lightning speed in my life right now.

But speaking of KISSes… My son did get married! And everything was perfect besides the fact that the guest list was 25 not 175. But truly it was a beautiful day! Busy and Beautiful!

Now we are in the process of selling one house and buying another. And we had to get a new furnace put in the house we are selling. And now we have to leave for showings… And it’s the middle of winter, and a pandemic… (oh yes how can we forget that part.) Plus, it is almost Christmas. Oh, and my job seems to be revving up to max speed as well.

Some people say I thrive on the chaos… I don’t agree. Maybe once I did… not anymore. It makes me tired.

Whenever we were working a project or an event, I always used to tell the people I supervised … “K.I.S.S” - Keep it Simple Silly! (I don’t like saying “stupid”… I know… it’s the MN nice in me.) And it really did work. Things always went well when we didn’t overdo things or over plan or overthink… Funny, I wish I was good at that when it comes to my own life. Not overthink??? Who can do that?

Now it’s almost Christmas. I have 2 gifts bought. I don’t know what I am doing for other gifts. I could make things…sure… if it wasn’t mass chaos here right now and most of my stuff wasn’t in the storage pod that has been sitting in the driveway since June. Ugh! What a MASSIVE WHINE!

Anyway… I think I have totally lost the point to this whole post! I think it had something to do with, I wish I could listen to my own self better (cause I am pretty smart) but I don’t! Sooooooo maybe not so smart after all.

I just want things to be a little simpler. I think I blame COVID for this… For some of us, COVID has really made us slow down and start to appreciate the little things more. I am starting to like the slower paced life. I miss a lot of things, don’t get me wrong. But I am also finding I can be pretty content sitting at home doing nothing too. I think that is why I am so overwhelmed right now… too much going on was always my normal until COVID. So now when there is too much going on, I am acutely aware of it.

Again, I am not sure there is a point to this post…

I was thinking about gift giving this year. Just thinking about this has me worn out and I have done NO shopping. But I think this whole simpler life thing has me really being thoughtful about what I give people too. I don’t want to just buy something to buy something. I want to give gifts that are meaningful and thoughtful… and maybe that means just giving money. IDK. I think money is helpful right now for many folks. Maybe that is best. And what I really want is just time with my family. I just want to hang out and play games and eat “mostly healthy foods” together. I want nothing fancy. I hope we get to do that.

Regardless of the chaos, I am super excited to be in the process of possibly buying a new house! It will most likely be a big redo, repurpose project as well. But that is part of the fun I guess. So stay tuned for that chaos!

And speaking of repurposing... We like to “reincarnate” things and sell them in our shop. So if you have last minute shopping to do, or your like me and you have only bought two things so far... maybe check out our shop, if you are in the area. We have some fun stuff that might be the perfect simple little thing for someone in your life. Otherwise just give them money.

Have a wonderful holiday!

    Our mom was a junker....
    We are junkers too.
We like "Good Stuff" like old tablecloths, pretty plates, things with snarky sayings, painted furniture, and pretty much anything with a story to tell.
This is our story, or what we like to call
     "Our Tale."
You can find even more stories here on these blog pages about "re" design ideas I try, and all the mistakes I make along the way!
