So the kitchen faucet is still not fixed... but in the meantime I have been working on the finishing touches for the kitchen. One thing that I have been doing is finding the just right table and chairs set for the little space off the island where there is just enough room for like a breakfast table... or something. I had a small table and two chairs in there but Mr. Williams didn't love it. I am not sure why. So then I found a tall countertop height table with four countertop height bar stools on the FB Market Place... and thus began my table adventures. The FIRST set of chairs were actually really great Pier 1 chairs in a light cream color... but the table was more of a dark wood with some red undertones. I figured I would just paint or stain it all or something... Then I found a SECOND set of chairs that were darker wood, at Good Will for $5 each so I picked them up to see if I liked the wood look better. And I did, BUT... the chairs ended up not fitting under the table. The table has connecting bars that crisscross underneath it which stop the chairs from pushing all the way in.... I HATED THAT! So I tried to find different chairs/stools. I picked up a THIRD set of chairs/stools from the Market Place that were smaller bucket style stools. They fit under the table better but I really wanted chairs with backs... So I kept searching. Then I found a different table on the Market Place that I just fell in love with, only it was white and a bar height table. So now my countertop height stools will not work because they will be too low... P.S. Here is a handy guide for table heights... you're welcome! So now I was on the HUNT agin for tall bar height chairs... The HUNT is kind of my favorite part! I found a set on the Market Place and picked them up! $30 for two Flex-steel bar height stools. Good quality chairs but totally not the right color. NO WORRIES! After! So basically I took the seats off and recovered them in this great blue and white fabric and painted them with a navy blue paint from Heirloom Tradition Paint - a.k.a All in One Paint, I believe the color I used was Polo. I absolutely love how these turned out. (photo sucks cause remember I need a new phone.) Here is the total finished project!I REALLY LOVE IT!
BUT... Now I have an extra countertop height table and two sets of chairs (I gave one set to my cousin) in my garage! Oh well... I guess you know where those will end up... IN THE SHOP! "Occasional Weekend" is coming up. Come see the new "Good Stuff" we have in THE SHOP if your in the area. Maybe you will FIND something that you have been on the HUNT for that you will totally LOVE! I hope so.

Our mom was a junker.... We are junkers too. We like "Good Stuff" like old tablecloths, pretty plates, things with snarky sayings, painted furniture, and pretty much anything with a story to tell. This is our story, or what we like to call "Our Tale." You can find even more stories here on these blog pages about "re" design ideas I try, and all the mistakes I make along the way! Categories
