I like pretty things. I like organized things. So redoing the kitchen pantry was a must do and I am not going to lie... It makes me smile every time I open it! Even though it took a couple tries. :) My redo projects always tend to take the "hard way" route... And this one was no exception. Let me share... Pantry Redo Take One...
It was just a huge mess and it was driving me crazy! So I decided it needed to be revamped. Plus it really needed a DOOR! And I really wanted to add some of that cute peel and stick wallpaper that everyone is using now days. SOOOO CUTE! So I got started by taking everything out... Then I had Mr. Chris hang shelves on the sides of the closet. We measured everything up so that the garbage/recycling container would fit and made sure it would be able to open. Sometimes I am smart. The shelves were easy to install. (I mean mostly because I had Mr. Chris do it.) They have metal brackets and the shelves themselves came precut from Home Depot. You just need to know what size you need. I like them because all the edges are finished and you don't need to do any cutting that way. Mr. Chris also added the louvered doors. We bought a simple bi-fold door and just moved the hinges to make it open from the middle instead of like a bi-fold typically does. Genius! He did have to do a little creative trimming on the doors to get them to fit right as they were a little bigger than the opening. As you can see I am able to fit so many things in here... I think I have like three crockpots, a blender, an Instapot, two waffle makers, a Kitchen-aid mixer, a hand mixer, and lots of baking tools. I love having this stuff where I can get to everything easily. I am WAY more likely to use these appliances and such when I know where they are and they are easy to grab. And BONUS the garbage/recycling fits in here too so I don't have to look at that all the time! AND MY BROOM! I love it is right in here to grab quickly! I had it like this for a couple of months and then when we finished the redo in the kitchen I was like... I never did put wallpaper up in that pantry... and I really wanted it to be pretty and it really seemed like it still needed some organizing, some of the bins were getting *overflowy. So I did a second redo of the pantry! Pantry Redo Take TWO!So true confessions... a.k.a. T-BOMB! Trying to hang wallpaper after you have already hung the shelves is a SUPER BAD IDEA! It was very tricky and I was only able to do the back wall. I would have liked to do all the walls, but honestly not much of the wall shows where all the baskets are so no big deal. I just love it anyway. Those lemons are just cheery and make the entire pantry just super cute. And having the doors has been a GAME CHANGER!!! So much better! It's the little things folks! So as I mentioned earlier... the WHOLE Kitchen redo is finally done... well except a couple of minor issues... So that share will be coming soon. In the meantime, if you are looking for some "Good Stuff" to add to your pantry we have a SHOP you are always welcome to check out! Glossary: *Overflowy: When crap starts falling out of your organizational containers because you have crammed too much into them.

Our mom was a junker.... We are junkers too. We like "Good Stuff" like old tablecloths, pretty plates, things with snarky sayings, painted furniture, and pretty much anything with a story to tell. This is our story, or what we like to call "Our Tale." You can find even more stories here on these blog pages about "re" design ideas I try, and all the mistakes I make along the way! Categories
